On February 12, the Hazard Middle School Speech Team proudly represented our school at the Regional Tournament, delivering an outstanding performance that showcased both their talent and dedication. Evan Johnson earned the title of Regional Champion in Extemporaneous Speaking, demonstrating remarkable poise, quick thinking, and confidence. Evan also teamed up with Jordyn Napier to claim another Regional Championship in Duo Improvisation, where their creativity, chemistry, and sharp wit truly set them apart from the competition. Their hard work and countless hours of preparation were clearly evident as they took the stage.
As a team, they achieved an impressive 3rd place overall finish, securing their advancement to the state competition, an accomplishment that reflects not only individual excellence but also strong teamwork and perseverance. Team members Isabella Pennington, Evan Johnson, and Jordyn Napier represented our school with pride, professionalism, and determination. Under the guidance and leadership of Coach Casey Brewer, the team continues to grow and thrive, and we are incredibly proud of their success and excited to cheer them on as they move forward to the state level.
