💙💛Hazard Middle School students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test when the Challenger Center visited our 6th grade! Students worked together to build their own robots and then brought them to life by coding them to move, react, and complete tasks. It was a morning full of teamwork, discovery, and innovation. These future engineers proved that when imagination meets technology, amazing things happen. Thanks to Mrs. Brashear, the Challenger Center, and PRI for providing this STEM opportunity for our students! 💙💛

Congratulations to our students for achieving 100% attendance for the month of September. We celebrated with a certificate and donuts. We are SO proud of you proving that ATTENDANCE MATTERS at HMS!

KONA ICE - Oct. 3rd.

Hazard Middle School students experienced an electrifying STEM-filled Wednesday with a visit from the Challenger Center. During the session, students explored the basic components and different types of electric circuits through engaging demonstrations. Using Snap Circuit kits, they were able to design and build their own projects, sparking both excitement and curiosity. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of science, but also inspired a greater appreciation for the possibilities within STEM. Thanks to PRI, Mrs. Bowling, Rhonda, and Judy for this electrifying adventure! 💙💛

📚 Hazard Middle School 8th graders had an exciting opportunity last week to learn from local author Nancy Allen! Mrs. Allen shared her writing expertise, guiding students as they strengthened their personal narratives with rich sensory details and creative figurative language. By the end of the week, every student had crafted a polished piece of writing they could be proud of! 💙💛

🎉Congratulations to Mrs. Bowling's 5th grade Homeroom for bringing in the most items for the FRYSC Food Drive. They were treated to a Taco Bell party! 💙💛

🎉 At Hazard Middle School, we believe every student deserves a friend. That's why we've added a BUDDY BENCH to our playground! Here's how it works: if you're feeling lonely or looking for someone to talk to or feel connected to, just take a seat on the bench. When classmates see someone sitting there, they will know it's time to step up, be a friend, and invite them to join in.
The Buddy Bench signifies what we believe here at Hazard Middle School-we believe in kindness and making sure no feels left out. We want our school to be a place where EVERY STUDENT BELONGS!
Today we celebrated the Buddy Bench by having a ribbon cutting ceremony. Thank you Partners for Rural Impact for making this possible! 💙💛

Everyone come out to support the 8th grade Lady Bulldogs!
