Hazard Middle School - Red Ribbon Week

A big thank you to the University of Pikeville College of Optometry for visiting Hazard Middle School to provide vision screenings for our 5th graders! Regular vision checks help ensure our students can see clearly, learn comfortably, and reach their full potential in the classroom! 👀📚

What a wonderful day at the Challenger Center! Students from our Algebra 1 class participated in SpacePrep, An Aerospace Exploration Workshop for Young Women. While there, students learned about electrical engineering, space science, and got to solder together their own "jiggy bot" using electrical components. A special thank you to the Challenger Center for inviting our students. 💙💛

SPOOKTACULAR fun at the MAC! Our 7th graders took a trip to the Mountain Arts Center to see the Kentucky Opry Jr. Pros and it was fang-tastic! The students loved the music, dancing, and the Halloween spirit throughout the performance. What an awesome way to celebrate the season and the arts! 🎃

Congratulations to our prize patrol winners for displaying positive behavior at school. You make HMS proud everyday!

FCA Tomorrow!!!

Congratulations to our Students of the Week for the week of October 13th. We are SO PROUD of your hard work!

ATTENTION 7th grade!
NO SLIP, NO TRIP! Get those permission slips signed and turned in!

Grab your friends, hit the dance floor, and get ready for some line dancing fun after school! Hope to see you there October 14th!

💙💛Hazard Middle School students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test when the Challenger Center visited our 6th grade! Students worked together to build their own robots and then brought them to life by coding them to move, react, and complete tasks. It was a morning full of teamwork, discovery, and innovation. These future engineers proved that when imagination meets technology, amazing things happen. Thanks to Mrs. Brashear, the Challenger Center, and PRI for providing this STEM opportunity for our students! 💙💛

Congratulations to our students for achieving 100% attendance for the month of September. We celebrated with a certificate and donuts. We are SO proud of you proving that ATTENDANCE MATTERS at HMS!

Congratulations to our prize patrol winners for displaying positive behavior at school. You make HMS proud everyday!

On behalf of the student body and staff at Hazard Middle School, some members of the HMS Student Leadership Team delivered food and supplies that were collected during the HMS Food Drive. Many items were brought in by students and staff to donate to the Greg and Noreen Wells Bluegrass Hospice Care Center. The Annual Food Drive is a coordinated collaboration with the HMS Student Leadership Team and the HMS Family Resource Center. 💙💛
