We are so proud to recognize our amazing Students of the Week! These students have gone above and beyond by showing kindness, responsibility, hard work, and bulldog pride every single day. Keep up the great work -- you are shining examples of what it means to lead by example! We are proud of you!

FoodCorps visited 5th grade and brought a very special guest. We would like to thank the FoodCorps program for investing in our students.

HMS was honored to welcome Joey Jones, owner of Ready, Set, Play today. Joey spoke with our 6th graders about how greatness can come from small places. He highlighted local African American historical figures who made a positive impact on Perry County and reminded students that you don't have to do something famous to be known for being a good person. We appreciate Joey for investing in and encouraging our students!

Flavor Lab was extra sweet this week! Students made fried ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and whipped cream, plus a grilled sandwich of their choice. Hands on learning never tasted so good! A big thank you to FoodCorps for investing in our students and supporting Flavor Lab!

Congratulations to TWO 8th grade classes for winning the attendance challenge last week. Mrs. Frasure's & Mrs. Justice's homeroom classes both had 98% average daily attendance for the week of February 9th. We are SO proud of you showing that ATTENDANCE MATTERS at HMS!

Congratulations to our PRIZE PATROL winners for the week of February 9th. We are SO proud of your positive behavior. Keep up the good work.

Chris Campbell from the Boys & Girls Club of America had an engaging and interactive visit with our 7th graders today. He led students in a game-playing, informative discussion about the importance of strong character and standing up for what's right. Using examples of notable African Americans throughout history, Chris highlighted the power of discovering your passion and using it to make a positive impact on the world. We are grateful to Chris for investing in and inspiring our students! 💙💛

It was a sweet meeting in Flavor Lab this week as we cooked up cheesy quesadillas and edible cookie dough! Our students are building kitchen confidence one delicious recipe at a time! Thanks to FoodCorps for supporting this enriching experience! 🍪🌮

Steve Jones visited our 5th graders today to share the importance of celebrating the contributions of notable African Americans. He also encouraged students to discover their own calling in life and the impact they can make in the world. Thank you, Steve, for showing up for our students and sharing such meaningful encouragement! 💙💛

Congratulations to Mr. Pennington's homeroom class for winning the attendance trophy the week of February 2-6. HMS is so proud of your attendance.

We would like to recognize these students for participating in 100 days of prayer. They meet each morning before school starts to begin their day with a prayer. We would also like to thank Mr. Miller for his daily attendance each morning leading this group.
