🎄🎶Hazard Middle School's 6th graders spread Christmas cheer at Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center. Students shared handmade cards and lifted spirits by singing Christmas carols for residents. Eighth grader Ken treated residents to beautiful violin solos of Christmas carols. We are proud of our students for showing empathy, kindness, and a strong commitment to community engagement! 💚♥️

🎄🎅🏻 The HMS Leadership Team visited the nursing home to deliver Christmas cards and treats. It was a wonderful day spent serving our community. Thank you to the HMS Leadership Team and Mr. Mitch Fields for making this meaningful experience possible. ❤️💚

Kentucky Youth Assembly 2025 is officially in the books! KYA is the Commonwealth's premier hands-on civic engagement experience, immersing students in the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches of Kentucky state government. Over three action-packed and demanding days, students navigated a rigorous schedule that deepened their understanding of the democratic process. Our students didn't just rise to the challenge-they excelled! Hazard Middle School returned home proud recipients of several prestigious honors. We were awarded the Premier Delegation Award, recognizing that our school met all conference requirements and that our students, advisors, and chaperones exemplified the YMCA's four core values: Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility. HMS also earned the BEST NEW DELEGATION Award for outstanding participation, exceptional preparedness, and exemplary behavior. In addition, we are thrilled to celebrate Evan Johnson, who was named OUTSTANDING DELEGATE for his leadership and contributions. We are exhausted-but incredibly proud and elated. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Brashear, Mr. Hall, and Mrs. Pulliam for their guidance and support throughout this unforgettable experience. Thank you to Mr. Hurt and Mrs. Combs for allowing us this learning opportunity.

If you're out this weekend for Christmas in a Small Town, please stop by the HMS tree and pickup a free book!

Snow? Rain? Hail? Doesn't matter-KYA pushes forward! These leaders are ready to change the world-one bill at a time!
