HMS celebrated January & February birthdays! Happy birthday to YOU!

To wrap up Kindness Month, the HMS 7th graders made thank you cards for the Hazard Fire Department and the Hazard Police Department. Class President, Dakota Presley, delivered them as a small token of our BIG appreciation for those who keep our community safe!
Also, the 6th grade students recognized more of our amazing support staff. They delivered thank you cards to show their appreciation for ALL the important people who make our school run smoothly! We are SO grateful for our wonderful staff and ALL they do each day to support our students!

Congratulations to this week's prize patrol winners! These students have been caught showing responsibility, respect, and positive leadership throughout our school. Their actions make a difference and help create the kind of environment where everyone can learn and succeed. We are proud of the example you're setting!

We are so proud to recognize our amazing Students of the Week! These students have gone above and beyond by showing kindness, responsibility, hard work, and bulldog pride every single day. Keep up the great work -- you are shining examples of what it means to lead by example! We are proud of you!

FoodCorps visited 5th grade and brought a very special guest. We would like to thank the FoodCorps program for investing in our students.

HMS was honored to welcome Joey Jones, owner of Ready, Set, Play today. Joey spoke with our 6th graders about how greatness can come from small places. He highlighted local African American historical figures who made a positive impact on Perry County and reminded students that you don't have to do something famous to be known for being a good person. We appreciate Joey for investing in and encouraging our students!

Flavor Lab was extra sweet this week! Students made fried ice cream topped with chocolate syrup and whipped cream, plus a grilled sandwich of their choice. Hands on learning never tasted so good! A big thank you to FoodCorps for investing in our students and supporting Flavor Lab!

Congratulations to TWO 8th grade classes for winning the attendance challenge last week. Mrs. Frasure's & Mrs. Justice's homeroom classes both had 98% average daily attendance for the week of February 9th. We are SO proud of you showing that ATTENDANCE MATTERS at HMS!
