Our students and staff showed up in a HUGE way for HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY! We are so proud to announce that HMS achieved an incredible 99% overall attendance rate!
A massive shoutout to our 7th graders, who set the bar with a PERFECT 100% attendance! Fantastic job!
To celebrate this amazing achievement, we had an unforgettable afternoon:
*Water Balloon Toss: Students got the chance to aim and throw water balloons at our principal, Mr. Hurt!
*Ice Cream Party: Everyone enjoyed sweet treats on the playground.
*Squishies Raffle: Students earned entries to win a giant basket packed with squishies!

Students explored Appalachian canning traditions and the science behind the canning process. They then put their learning into practice by canning pickles using cucumbers grown in our school garden -- planted by last years 5th graders!
