The newly elected Hazard Middle School Student Council held its first meeting of the year with a working lunch!🐾 Students elected their officers and immediately got to work planning their first project. Their hard work will culminate in a presentation to the Hazard Independent School Board in mid-October. We are proud to see these young leaders stepping up, sharing ideas, working together, and learning what it means to make a difference in their school community! 💙💛

🥔 Flavor Lab was all about potatoes! 🥔 Our young chefs explored how potatoes play such a big role in our society, learned about how potatoes are grown, and discovered some fun potato facts along the way! Of course, we had to put our learning to the test with a delicious potato bar! And to top it all off, we enjoyed the chocolate eclair cake our chefs prepared last week! 🍰 Learning, cooking, and enjoying good food together= another great day in the Flavor Lab! Shoutout to our cafeteria staff, FoodCorps, and PRI for making this experience possible! 💙🐾

🤖💻 What a great day at the Challenger Center! Algebra 1 students participated in a Women in STEM workshop called SpacePrep. While there, students explored the aerospace industry in Kentucky and learned the basics of electricity and electronics in a hands-on project that includes building their own robot.

We've been keeping a little secret ...👀 The trees aren't the only things changing colors around HMS! 🎨 Something BIG is taking shape, and we can't wait to show you what's happening. Stay tuned...our school is about to get a whole lot more Bulldog pride! 🐾🐾

🇺🇸Democracy was at its best at HMS Thursday!🇺🇸 Our student council election was held, giving students the opportunity to participate in the democratic process and make their voices heard. Perry County Clerk Wayne Napier helped oversee the election and proudly announced the official winners. Hazard Middle School is proud to be represented by such a fine group of young leaders. We look forward to seeing them lead, serve, and make a positive difference at HMS!💙 A special thank-you to PRI, Paul Spare, and Sandra Blackburn for serving as election officers and helping make this meaningful learning experience possible! 🍰 FLAVOR LAB had a sweet day! This week was dedicated to those with a sweet tooth! Our young chefs whipped up edible cookie dough and chocolate eclair cake-and both were a huge hit! Sweet treats, big smiles, and lots of fun in the kitchen! FLAVOR LAB = SWEET SUCCESS! Shoutout to PRI and FoodCorps for providing this meaningful experience!
